Highlighting connections is the key point of this newsletter, and the Planet Carnival project as a whole. I'd love to think that history buffs who don't have personal experience will come to see that Carnival is so much more than drunken partying (not that there's anything wrong with that)...and that hedonists who suffered from boring history teachers will understand that things that happened hundreds (or thousands) of years ago directly shaped the way we celebrate today.
