The version I read was 500 pages, and even that was significantly abridged. I honestly don't know how he found the time amid all his other, uh, activities...I'd like to get a complete edition, but I don't know how available it is in English.
I believe a new edition and translation was published recently, and I was intrigued by a review in the New Yorker. But for now I'm happy to read reviews and fascinating posts like this one, and take him at second hand. Thanks again for always writing something informative and enjoyable to read about Carnival!
How fascinating .. Thank you for a glimpse into Casanova’s autobiography. I do remember going on a guided tour of the jail and the stories
